Barcelona Design Week 2025: Efebé opens its doors with an experience dedicated to the acoustics of spaces

On October 16, 2025, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Grupo Efebé showroom in Barcelona will host a new edition of Barcelona Design Week, focused on a key challenge for architecture and interior design: the acoustics of work and learning spaces.

At a time when we spend much of our time in open offices and collective classrooms, acoustic comfort is essential. A poorly designed space can generate noise, stress and concentration difficulties. On the other hand, a well-resolved environment acoustically improves productivity, well-being and quality of learning.

Acoustics, soundproofing and reverberation: what do you need to know?

During the activity, our experts will explain in a clear and practical way the differences between:

• Soundproof: Preventing sound from leaving or entering a space.

• Acoustic insulation: create barriers so that noise is not transmitted.

• Control reverberation: reduce echo and make sound pleasant within the space.

To make it tangible, in the showroom there will be real samples of acoustic materials so that attendees can see and touch the solutions we use in our projects.

Two success stories: an office and a school

In addition to the informative part, we will present two real projects of Efebé:

• A corporate office, where we manage to reduce noise and improve concentration in a hybrid work environment.

• A school, where we are going to transform the spaces to offer students and teachers a healthier environment that is more conducive to learning.

With these examples, we want to show how acoustic solutions are not only an aesthetic addition, but an essential tool to create functional and sustainable spaces.
