The design of spaces, key to the transformation of the social and health sector
More than 800 professionals from the geriatric, health and residential fields met on March 10, 11 and 12 at the VI National Congress on Dependency and Health by Alimarket, held at IFEMA Madrid. Under the slogan “The person at the center of care. Challenges and opportunities in the necessary transformation of the social and health sector”, the event was consolidated as the main meeting point to reflect, share innovation and propose solutions for the future.
From Efebé we had the privilege of participating for the second consecutive year with our own presentation in the exhibitors’ space, as well as with a joint stand with our collaborators Seniorcare, Greenarea and Showee, with whom we share the same vision: to transform the social and health sector from sustainability, well-being and technology.

Efebé Presentation: How to stop burnout and attract talent through design
On Wednesday, March 12, we presented the talk “How to stop burnout and attract and retain talent in nursing homes through the design of spaces”, an innovative approach that highlights the role of architectural and functional design as a tool for well-being for both residents and professional teams.
In an industry where job turnover and emotional exhaustion directly affect the quality of care, we championed the idea that well-designed environments are capable of caring for those they care for. Spaces with natural light, warm materials, good acoustics and specific rest areas for staff help prevent professional burnout and improve the work experience.
This presentation is part of our commitment to a person-centred care model, which includes not only users, but also those who are part of the care team.
A Congress with a transformative outlook
During the three days, the Congress addressed key issues for the present and future of the sector, such as attracting and retaining talent, technological innovation, the impact of sustainability, real estate investment and new models such as senior living or unrestrained service.
Especially relevant was the inspirational presentation by the psychiatrist and writer Marian Rojas Estapé, who opened the second day with a reflection on emotional well-being in care contexts, or the round table dedicated to the essential role of day centers as resources for proximity and prevention.
Showee, Greenarea and Seniorcare: innovation at the service of care
At our stand, shared with our partners Seniorcare, Greenarea and Showee , visitors were able to discover real and scalable solutions to transform social and health spaces:
- Seniorcare presented its comprehensive accompaniment model for nursing homes, from staff training to the efficient management of resources and processes.
- Greenarea offered advice on efficient and sustainable air conditioning, which is key to comfort and the reduction of energy consumption in the centres.
- Showee presented its innovative smart shower, designed to improve autonomy and dignify the moment of grooming in the elderly or people with functional diversity.
Transformation begins in spaces
At Grup Efebé we firmly believe that the transformation of the social and health sector cannot be limited to processes or technology: it must start in spaces. Spaces that care, that welcome, that respect rhythms and promote autonomy.
Our participation in the National Congress of Dependency and Health reinforces our commitment to a more humane, more professionalized and more sustainable sector. A sector where people are truly at the centre of care.
