Offices Phase 1 and 2: Transforming Wamos Air’s offices with co-creation and privacy spaces

Madrid | 2025

Type of intervention: Interior renovation and furnishing

Dimensions: 1,500 m²

Duration: 5 months

Wamos Air, formerly known as Pullmantur Air, is a Spanish airline specializing in charter flights and wet lease services for other airlines and clients in the tourism and corporate sectors. At a key moment of internal transformation, the company identified the need to update and optimize its offices to adapt to new work models, embracing a more collaborative, efficient, and sustainable culture. In this context, Efebé took on the challenge of transforming Wamos Air’s offices in a project divided into several phases. In this success story, we explain how we approached Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project.

Objectives

  • Adapt workspaces to new work models and operational needs.

  • Reduce desk density and improve the quality of the spaces.

  • Create co-creation areas, functional meeting rooms, and flexible zones.

  • Improve office ergonomics, privacy, and overall sustainability.

Efebé Solution

At Efebé, we opted for a strategic renovation starting from a functional but overcrowded layout with underused spaces. The project preserved the central structure of shared services and enhanced the environmental quality, comfort, and functionality of the spaces through a modern, versatile design.

I WANT A RENOVATION LIKE THIS

Phase 1 – Co-creation spaces and shared services

One of the main challenges was to create a new co-creation area—a multipurpose space designed for training sessions, press conferences, photo shoots, board meetings, and high-level gatherings. We designed a flexible room that can be divided into two areas using a mobile partition: one with an integrated kitchen and another with tiered seating, ideal for dynamic meetings and presentations. The ceiling visually distinguishes each area depending on the activity, reinforcing spatial reading without the need for full separation.

We retained the central services hub (printing, rack, storage), optimizing it with a new paper-reduction policy. We integrated individual and double booths, both open and closed, for calls, quick meetings, or private breaks. The use of sound-absorbing materials, ergonomic furniture, and smart layout enabled a practical, quiet, and team-oriented environment.

Phase 2 – OCC Room and improvement of critical spaces

In this phase, we renovated the OCC (Operational Control Center) room, the true brain of Wamos Air, which operates 24/7 and centralizes flight control. Previously inefficient, this space was redesigned with ergonomic anti-static desks, next-gen cabling, and up to three monitors per station, all connected to a central screen. The layout fosters smooth communication between the manager and team, as well as with the crew and travel control rooms.

An independent access was created for more privacy, a rest area with lockers was added, and we applied ergonomic and acoustic comfort standards to ensure the well-being of staff working long shifts.

Results

The transformation of Wamos Air’s offices in Phases 1 and 2 led to a significant improvement in efficiency, comfort, and space functionality. Teams now benefit from areas tailored to their specific needs, collaboration zones, tech-equipped meeting rooms, and a smarter, more sustainable layout. A project that marks a turning point in how the organization works.
